A realistic first-day pilot
Start with one room, a simple food item, and a housekeeping request. The guest should be able to browse services and submit both actions. The kitchen path should process the food order, while housekeeping follows its separate service task. The Command Center can coordinate both without pretending food preparation and towel delivery are identical workflows.
Avoid the isolated QR menu trap
A static menu page can display items beautifully but still require someone to receive an email, transcribe the order and notify another department. Evaluate the actual submission, ownership and completion journey—not only the quality of the QR scan page.
Measure adoption carefully
Track the number of eligible rooms, actual QR-originated requests and completed service outcomes separately. A high number of page opens is not proof of higher dining revenue or guest satisfaction. Use an appropriate observation window and compare similar periods before describing improvement.
