Methodology
Housekeeping hours = occupied rooms × cleaning minutes / 60. Guest service hours = daily requests × handling minutes / 60. Each is divided by effective productive hours per worker, calculated as shift hours × utilization assumption. Fixed front-desk coverage is added as a separate assumption. Staffing is rounded up by department, with no mixing of unrelated roles.
Limitations
This is a workload planning aid, not a prescribed staff-to-room ratio. Coverage varies with service level, building layout, outsourcing, amenities, regional labor law, maintenance and employee skills.
