Guest Room QR Code Ordering for Hotels in the UAE
Definition
Room QR vs generic QR: a generic QR can't tell rooms apart. A guest room QR is unique per room, which makes room ordering and room billing possible.
How it works
- Guest room QR
One QR per room or villa opens a server-side room session (24 h by default).
- In-room QR menu
Dining & Items and Hotel Services in the browser; no app.
- Kitchen display
Orders go to Master KDS and category stations with the room attached.
- Staff tasks
Staff log in with a PIN and start and finish tasks; scanning the room QR is optional.
- Room bill record
Optional auto bill-to-room; settlement stays in your PMS/POS.

UAE notes
- VAT: the app has a VAT tax mode for the UAE; confirm the 5% VAT setup and TRN invoice requirements with your accountant.
- Guests: the guest ordering UI is in English. Arabic marketing pages exist at /ar-ae/, but an Arabic guest UI isn't claimed. You can write item text in Arabic yourself.
- Payments: there is no card capture in the guest menu. Charges can be recorded on the room bill and settled in your PMS/POS.
- High-end resorts: villas and beach cabanas can each have their own room QR; an optional location check limits requests to the property.

Plans are a fixed price per property, billed annually or quarterly and sized by maximum rooms, with a 30-day trial in the launch terms.

Can a previous guest reuse the QR?
The printed QR is permanent, but the session is revoked on room release and needs a fresh scan.
Do we reprint cards between guests?
No. Sessions handle turnover.
Can staff scan the same QR?
Yes, to start and finish tasks in that room.
