Why this season stresses hotel operations

CAIT estimated 46 lakh weddings in India between 1 November and 14 December 2025, worth about ₹6.5 lakh crore. Its 2026 estimate wasn’t published at the time of writing. When so many weddings land on a handful of dates, a hotel can host several functions in one weekend, with hundreds of guests who all want tea, ironing, extra pillows and late-night food at once.

What wedding guests actually ask for

Set up requests by family block

  1. Map the room block

Tag rooms by side (bride’s/groom’s family) and VIPs so the coordinator knows who’s who.

  2. Publish one QR per room

Guests scan once for menus, timings and requests. No app to download, which matters for older relatives.

  3. Pre-load wedding services

Ironing, extra bedding, early tea, luggage help, so requests come in as clear items, not WhatsApp voice notes.

  4. Route to teams

Housekeeping requests to housekeeping, food to the kitchen display, with a manager watching the queue.

  5. Close the loop

Guests see status, and the coordinator sees what’s still open.

This is how DigitalRoomService works in Indian properties. Room QR ordering and requests feed the Command Center, and pricing is published in INR. See resort guest request app and WhatsApp vs QR room ordering.

In-room dining for late nights

  • A short “after the sangeet” menu: maggi, parathas, chai, kulhad coffee, khichdi. Fast, comforting, easy to plate.
  • Separate Jain/no-onion-garlic options clearly marked.
  • Kids’ items for early dinners.
  • Pre-order early tea and breakfast for the wedding morning.

Make sure GST treatment on room-linked bills is confirmed with your accountant. Our QR code menu for hotels in India page covers menu setup.
